This year ski trip will feature...

Ok... so here we are. Snow is falling all around North America, ski movies are released, new skis hit the store, my quads are anxious to get sore from the telemark turn, the school is almost over... everything converge for this year ski trip! The goal is simple: ski as much powder as we can, spend as little money as we can and have a good time!

So here is the deal (which will probably change!): Evans and I will be leaving for British Columbia on January 1st. We should start by skiing in the backcountry around Whistler for a few weeks. Then, once the snow in inner BC become more stable we will go back there to ski in the Kootenay region, Roger Pass and the Columbia mountains. Depending on the conditions after that we should head up in northern BC, and see what backcountry skiing there looks like!

Stay tuned, it will be an amazing winter!

A little bit about our previous trips!

Our ski trips usually involve a long road trip across Canada toward the west...

Drinking a lot of coffee along the way... cause that part of the trip is fun, but useless!

Eating along the way...

But getting no sleep until we can see the moonlight reflected by the snowy peak...

Then the real fun begin... once we found the proper snow & terrain we start hiking up...

Always higher...

And higher...

Until we found a white and untouched little piece of paradise...

Where the snow is lighter than feather... where the snow fall so fast that if you stop moving it will cover you...

Or get into your sandwich...

Then we start skiing...

We go back up and ski down until exhaustion, which never really happens before it get dark! We then eat dinner... usually spaghetti, a lot of it!

And after a good night of sleep we start again! Leaving early morning...

Hiking high and far for the perfect line...

Skiing again (!!) on the way down...

Jumping ...

And sometime falling!

Of course, we sometime get news from the outside world...

Sometime resorting to "emergency" food...

And sometime changing location to follow the snow...

And the season goes on like that... hiking up, skiing everyday, eating spaghetti, searching for perfect powder. Then comes the spring... powder is harder to find but skiing is still enjoyable!

Until we open a last beer and head back home...
